Al "AJ The DJ" Wilson Obituary

A l Jerome Wilson Sr. was born February 24, 1957 in Savannah, GA and was the sixth child of the twelve children of the late James R Wilson Sr. and the late Ethel Mae Wilson. Al was also preceded in death by his oldest brother James R Wilson Sr. and younger brother Ronald B Wilson Sr. During his adolescent years, Al joined St. Phillip Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.C. Simmons. Faithfully, he served as a Sunday School Teacher. Later in his life he became a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Dorthy Bates. Al attended school within the Jasper County School District. He graduated from West Hardeeville High in 1975 as an active member of the marching band and basketball. Al acquired a career in the Disc Jockey business as “DJ AJ”. He has touched many lives through tunes and dance moves over the years and those memories will last a lifetime. Aside from being a DJ, he maintained a small entrepreneurial endeavor in lawn care service. He had an amazing “green thumb” and perfected his crafts with excellence. Outstanding was Al’s heart. He always made sure he met the needs of others, and that always made his heart glow. On Monday, April 29, 2019, God saw fit to give him eternal rest.
