Ella Mae McPherson Obituary

Ella Mae West McPherson was born July 8, 1952, in Hardeeville, SC.  She was the daughter of the late Freddie and Albertha Aiken West.  She was proceeded in death by and infant son, a daughter Novel McPherson, Freddie Lee West, James Lee West and Roger West.

Ella attended Elementary School and graduated from Matthew E. West High School in Hardeeville, SC, where she graduated in 1970.  After graduating she was further educated at Vorhees College in Denmark, SC and The Technical College of the Lowcountry.

On August 27, 1977 she married Levon” Mac” McPherson.  She was employed at Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Service Inc.  a Pharmacy Technician at Eckerd’s Drug Store, a clerk for the Hardeeville Police Department.  She taught at Little People’s College, she wrapped up her career at the YMCA as a Site Director for the Lady’s Island after school program.

Ella devoted her life to God at an early age where she became an active member of St. Phillip Baptist Church in Hardeeville, SC as an usher.  Ella became a faithful member of Bethesda Christian Fellowship where she served on the usher board until she was unable to serve.

On Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Costal Carolina Hospital, in Hardeeville, SC.  Ella was called home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving Husband: Levon” Mac” McPherson; her devoted son: Joshua McPherson; Her siblings: Mary West of Jersey City, NJ. Ura Lee West Brown of Hardeeville, SC and Margie (Arnold) Gregory of St. Helena Island, SC; and God given sister, Cheryl Selby; Sister-in-laws Mildred West, Carolyn(JB) Brown, of Gastonia, NC.; Louise (Gary) Roberts of Havanna, FL., Janet Porches of Port Wentworth, GA., Sheba Cooper of Atlanta, GA., Deborah Nelson of Savannah, GA.; Brother-in -laws Derrick Porches Sr. of Savannah, GA. and Luther Porches Jr. of Port Wentworth GA.  A special aunt Margaret Primus and an aunt Rena Mae West of Miami, FL.; uncles: Isaiah West of Miami FL. and Johnny Bush of Hardeeville, SC; special friends Lindsey Ferrell and Mariah Hawkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
