Jeanette Simmons

Jeanette Simmons (Diva) was born on August 29, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the daughter of the late Thelma Simmons Williams and James Daniel. Jeanette attended Kensington High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jeanette bid this world a final farewell and departed this life on May 4, 2019. Jeanette was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for many years until she relocated with her aunt Jean Simmons in Beaufort, South Carolina. Later move to Ridgeland, South Carolina. Jeanette was well known and liked by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She used her pleasant personality to earn a living as a waitress and entrepreneur most of her life. If you knew Jeanette, you would know that she was a diva extraordinary. Jeanette loved fine fashion, unique hair styles and she complimented these things with her ladylike personality. Jeanette was fighter and survivor, overcoming many hardships through-out her life. The mother of three made tough decisions for the benefite of her children, two daughters and one son who preceded her in death Duwud Fletcher, and one grandson Quincy King. She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Kizzy Williams, of Columbia, SC; Kaneka Richardson, of Philadelphia, PA; two grandsons, Duheem Singleton, of Ridgeland, SC; Eric Williams Jr., of Columbia, SC; on granddaughter, Akeia Doe of Ridgeland, SC. Three sisters, Cynthia Parker, and Harriett Carn, of Philadelphia, PA; Tykeba (David) Donald, of Greenville, SC; one brother, Jarvis (Naomi) Daniels, of Ridgeland, SC; two aunts, Naomi Richardson and Jean Simmons of Beaufort, SC; one uncle, Adolph (Katrina) Simmons, Sr., Ridgeland, SC. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to my step-father George Williams, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA and God daughter Angel Duncan.

Jeanette Simmons 60, of Ridgeland SC departed this earthly life to eternal life on Saturday, May, 4, 2019. 

Celebration of life services for Ms. Simmons will be held on Saturday, May, 11, 2019 11am at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC. Ms. Simmons will lie in repose from 10am until the hour of the service.

Final resting place: Arm Oak Cemetery Hardeeville, SC.
