Luz Morales

Luz Morales of Pineland SC, departed this earthly life on May 23, 2018 under the care of Savannah Hospice.

Mrs. Luz Eneida Lopez Morales-Miller, known to most as “Lucy”, the daughter of the late Alfredo Lopez and Ruth Cruz was born August 28, 1964 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. 

On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, our Heavenly Father called her from time to eternity.

 “Lucy” was the second oldest of four sisters.  At the age of three years, she and her family moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. She graduated from Joseph A. Foran High School in Milford, Ct., in 1982. 

After a brief time in Atlanta, Ga, Lucy resided in Ashville, NC, where she was employed in the Administrative field at the historic Grove Park Inn Resort as an Office Manager.

Later in life, she became a resident of Floyd, Va., where she served in her church “Renacer” and faithfully held the positions of Treasurer, Secretary and Interpreter for five years.  After moving South, Lucy unwaveringly attended the Church of God of Prophecy, Tarboro, SC and was a member of the Adult Choir.

In October of 2016, when her health began to decline, Lucy moved to Springfield, Ga to be in the supportive and tender loving care of her daughter and son-in-law, Taisha and Darius. 

 In November 2017, she met and married Mr. Michael Miller.

Lucy will always be remembered for her encouraging words; her laughter, her smile, her willingness to help and her unrelenting dedication to serve as an Advocate for “Breast Cancer”.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her spouse, Michael Miller; her (3) Children: Taisha (Darius) Jackson, Jessie Morales and Jaymie Morales;

(4) Grandchildren: Tatiyana Jackson, Darius “Ace” Jackson, Deleon “Leo” Jackson and Deston Jackson; (3) Sisters; Adalizbeth “Ada” Lopez, Lydia Lopez and Donna Cruz. And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.                       

Funeral service will be held Wednesday May, 30 at 12:00 noon at Church of God of Prophecy located 422 Dasher road, Tarboro SC.
