Phyllis Williams

Phyllis N. Williams was born on August 29, 1956 in Allendale County, SC
to the late Phillip and Clara Jane Newton Jr. She was called home to glory
on May 24, 2019 in Charleston, SC.
She was affectionately known as “Chubby” by her family and friends.
Phyllis was loved by many and was a devoted and loving wife, mother,
sister, Godmother and friend. She had a hand at raising many children other
than her own which is a testament of her loving heart.
On February 20, 1988, she was united in holy matrimony to George
Williams Jr. To this union, they had six children that they loved and
cherished.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of the home of 31
years, George Williams Jr. of Gifford, SC; sons: Jermaine (Cynthia)
Simmons Sr. of Okinawa, Japan; Tony (Zanika) Simmons of Columbus,
GA; Earnie (Contina) Williams of Atlanta, GA; daugthers: Darlene
(Jermaine) Robinson; Shirlene (Isaac) Williams-Villard both of Atlanta, GA
and Tiesha Frazier of Fairfax, SC; four sisters: Patricia Conales of Gifford,
SC; Lillian Devore of Estill, SC; Debra (Richard) Wilson of Varnville, SC
and Barbbee (Abiel) of Washington; two brothers: Arthur Smart Sr. of Estill,
SC and Edgar (Alice) Williams of Gifford, SC; Godchildren: Zackery
Scriven of Elkton, MD and Kimberly Bryant of Gifford, SC; sisters-in-law:
Diane (Resto) Ashe of Gifford, SC and Luesther Bostick of Ridgeland, SC;
brothers-in-law: Joe Williams of Allendale, SC and Earnest Pickney of
Templeton Heights, MD; eighteen (18) grandchildren and seven (7) great
grandchildren; special friend, Elease Johnson of Furman, SC; special niece,
Leigha Rivers of Gifford, SC; a family friend, Robert Anthony Jones of
Robertville, SC and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Phyllis "Chubby"  Williams 62, of Gifford, SC departed this earthly life to be with her heavenly father on Friday, May 24, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends. 

Mrs. Williams will lie in repose from 6-8pm Friday, May 31, 2019 in the Legacy chapel. 

Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Williams celebration of life service on Saturday, June 1, 2019 11am  at Mt. Pleasant AME Church Garnett, SC

Final resting place: Mt. Pleasant AME Church cemetery.
