Roger West

Roger Rudolph West, the son of the late Freddie and Albertha West Sr., was born on October 6, 1959 in Hardeeville, S.C. He was a member of St. Phillips Baptist Church, where he was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Spencer.

He was a 1977 graduate from West Hardeeville High School. He enjoyed playing with his children cooking out and building things. He worked on various job in construction.

Rog, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, will be remember for his smile and affection for everyone.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Freddie and Albertha West, his brother Freddie Lee West Jr. and James Lee West Sr. Also preceded by his grandparents Keller and Clara West, nephew, Clifford Brown and brother-in-law Archie Brown.

Roger departed from this life on February 17, 2019 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. He left to cherish his children: Roger (Nicole) Jefferson, Diquan West, Briana West and Jeshan Hamilton all of Hardeeville, S.C and Zahyem Bradwell of Connecticut, and two grandsons, Braylon Jefferson and Bryson Jefferson of Hardeeville, S.C.  Siblings: Mary West of Jersey City, N.J; Uralee West Brown and Ella (Mac) McPherson of Hardeeville, S.C; and Margie (Arnold) Gregory of St. Helena Island, S.C. Sister in-laws: Mildred West, Carolyn (J.B) Brown and Ivory (Vermel) West. Aunts: Margret Primus and Frances Brownlee. Uncles: Isiah (Rena) West, John Bush; Nieces and Nephews: Dante (Denise) Jenkins, Maurice Brown, Temeshia West, Lubertha (Julius) Primus, Altovese (Lenard) Gadson, Ura Mae (Leon) Dunham, Joshua McPherson, Octavia Jenkins, German Gregory, James West Jr., Robert (Bethany) Austin, Teresa West, Tierra (Jerod) Saunders, Cierria West, Latosha (Kacey) Brown, Jocelyn Gregory, Damond Segar and Arnold Gregory. His special friends: Rhashema Scott, Vincent Glover, Al Michael, Gregory Midgett, Barbara Jean Wilson and Edward Wilson.

Roger West 59, of Hardeeville, SC departed this earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. 

Mr. West will lie in repose from 5-7 pm Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Phillips Baptist Church Hardeeville, SC.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. West celebration of life service on Saturday 23, 2019 11 am at St. Phillips Baptist Church Hardeeville, SC.

Final resting place: Purrysburg Cemetery Hardeeville, SC
