Bennie Mitchell

Bennie M. Mitchell, age 58, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, died Resurrection Sunday morning, April 9, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born December 13, 1964, in Stamford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Benjamin Mitchell Jr. and Geneva J. Taylor.
Bennie worked various jobs in landscaping, home construction, and painting. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching movies, bike riding, working out, crabbing, and eating seafood. Bennie possessed great love for his family and took pride in serving as a protector.
Bennie is survived by his mother, Geneva J. Taylor, the love of his life, Tonya R. Benson; along with two children; Bennie Mitchell Jr. of Bluffton, South Carolina and Brittany Mitchell of Kennesaw, Georgia; ten siblings Jacquelyn (Ronald) Howard-Gill of Columbia, South Carolina, Sharon Heyward, Elizabeth (Leroy) Mitchell-Dinkins and Benjamin L. Mitchell, III all of Ridgeland, South Carolina, Tyrone Chaneyfield of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Amber and Ebony Taylor of Bluffton, South Carolina, Todd Taylor of Duluth, Georgia, Travis (Anna) Mitchell of Marietta, Georgia and one brother, Tracey C. Bush, who preceded him in death. He has seven grandchildren, Demar Hamilton, Brenton M. Legree, Destiny Hamilton, Dallas Hamilton, Da’Laysha Hamilton, Bennie Mitchell, III, Brayden Mitchell and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
