Obituary

Mr. Daniel Collins, affectionately known as “Stinky” to all of his family and friends was born in Varnville, South Carolina on September 8, 1957 to the late Richard and Anna Collins.
He was educated in the public schools of Hampton County. At an early age, Daniel joined Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church in Varnville, South Carolina. He was employed by the Town of Varnville for many years and later with the water company until his illness.
Daniel was definitely a people person. Everyone who knew him loved him; that laugh, smile and that voice. He could make you laugh even if you were having a bad day, with those jokes. He loved to party and could dance all night. His famous line was, “I’ll be right back!” Stinky will always be in our hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Byron Booker; stepson, Terrance Fields; sisters, Betty Davis and Marlene Collins; brothers, Charlie Cohen, Charles Cohen, and Charles Collins.
Our Heavenly Father called Daniel to rest from this life, on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his devoted wife of the home, Mrs. Kim Collins; daughter, Shirena Collins, of Yemassee, South Carolina; two stepsons, Aaron Booker and Christopher (Derricka) Fields, both of Hampton, South Carolina; six grand- children, CJ, who was his little running partner, Kaira, Tryviah, Nasia, Tryntin and Chloe; three sisters, Allean Collins and Deloris Roberts, both of Varnville, South Carolina, and Millie (Evon) Dawkins, of Bluffton, South Carolina; brother, Ricky Collins, of Furman, South Carolina; two aunts, Ella B and Margaret Collins, both of Hampton, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Elaine Cohen, of Bronx, New York, Mary Collins, of Hampton, South Carolina, Carolyn (Johnnie Lee) Hill and Jeanette Fields, both of Estill, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, John Fields, of Estill, South Carolina and Marion Fields, of Washington State; god-daughter, Evony Dawkins; special nieces, Crystal and Brekeshia Collins; nephews, Jaevon, Donnie, William, Rick and Charlie; a devoted cousin, Cory Moore; best friends, Larry Brown, Jamar Cherry, Jan Lee Moore, and Reggie Jenkins; along with a host of loving family and friends.

Daniel, Collins of Hampton South Carolina, passed away on September 1, 2023 at Roper Hospital. Funeral services are pending at this time.
