Evalina Beaton

Evalina Beaton, “Lin”, 60 was born on May 29, 1963 in Ridgeland, South Carolina to the late Jake Beaton and Lula Edwards-Beaton.
She was educated in the public schools of Jasper County. Evalina was such a quiet and humble woman, but also a devoted mother who loved to spend time with her loved ones. She cared deeply for her family and friends. Evalina humbleness touched the lives of everyone she met.
Evalina was preceded in death by her parents, Jake Beaton and Lula Edwards-Beaton, two brothers, Arthur Lee Edwards Sr., and Jimmie Edwards, one sister, Dorothy Louise Edwards, three god sisters, Patricia Ann Mitchell, Hilda Battiste, Minnie Miller, and one aunt, Corraine Edwards-Mervin.
On Monday, February 5, 2024, she quietly departed this world at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. It would be wrong to say that Evalina lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Evalina stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Evalina. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost the battle because it was never hers.
Evalina leaves behind to cherish her precious memories: two daughters, Kenyatta M. Beaton and Camika A. Beaton, both of Ridgeland, SC; one sister, Juanita Edwards-Beaton of Ridgeland, SC; one godsister, Albertha Pinckney of Ridgeland, SC; one godbrother, Lincoln Edwards Sr. of Hardeeville, SC; one sister in law, Bernetta Wright of Ridgeland, SC; five nieces, Elisa Edwards of Ridgeland, SC, Lynnette Edwards of St. Helena Island, SC, Violet T. Gadson of Goose Creek, SC; LaToya Edwards of Dallas, TX, Nicole Little of Dallas, TX, one nephew, Arthur Lee Edwards Jr. of Pineland, SC; two grandchildren, Jaquan D. Alston, and Ka’Mya A. Fuller, both of Ridgeland, SC, a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews, cousins, and special relatives and friends such as Shirley Mitchell, Diane Mitchell, Patricia Hamilton, Pearl Powell, and Betty Gagum
Evalina Beaton, age 60 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on February 5, 2024, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. 

Evalina was born in Ridgeland, SC on May 29, 1963 to the late Jake Beaton and Lula Edwards-Beaton. 

She was a devoted mother, who had such a humble spirit and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Evalina is survived by her two daughters, Kenyatta M. Beaton, and Camika A. Beaton, both of Ridgeland, SC; and one sister, Juanita Edwards-Beaton of Ridgeland, SC.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 3676 Bees Creek Rd, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
