Gladys Jones

Ms. Gladys Gilyard Jones, 82, of Brunson, South Carolina was born on November 16, 1940, in Varnville, South Carolina to the late George and Leona Gilyard. Gladys was raised in the Baptist Church. She married the love of her life, Arthur James Jones, Sr. in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where she was employed as a volunteer responsible for patients' initial input when they arrived at the clinic for care. She enjoyed dancing, reading and challenging her family to do the right thing.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Arthur James Jones, Jr and Willie Lee Jones; parents, and Samuel Neal Brown; four siblings, George Gilyard, Jr, Johnny Lee Gilyard, James Franklin Gilyard, and Tawna Jones.
Gladys passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her home in Brunson, South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: four children, Anthony Gilyard and Darleen Gilyard, both of Chesapeake, Virginia, Linda Mae Magwood, and Thaddeus Magwood, both of Brunson, South Carolina; grandmother, Mariah Neal Brown of Varnville, South Carolina; sister, Jenny Lue Garvin of Varnville, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
