Josephine Ling Elmore, daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Polite Ling was born July 22, 1954. She was a 1972 graduate of Jasper County High School and continued her education at USC Salkehatchie, where she received an Associate degree. Josephine was employed with the Department of Corrections for 24 years until she retired as a Lieutenant. She enjoyed church and serving the Lord.
Josephine and George Elmore was joined in Holy matrimony on February 14, 1990.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith Elmore; parents; brother, Calvin Ling, and sister, Barbara Purgh.
She gained her wings on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at MUSC, Charleston, South Carolina.
Josephine leaves to cherish fond memories: husband, George Elmore, of the home; daughter, Palicia (Michael) Owens, Gifford, SC; two sons, Mack (Jamice) Brown, Hampton, SC, and Joseph (fiancé-Shannon) Elmore; three step children, George Ann, Lasayna and George Jr.; six sisters, Hazel Pollins, Allendale, SC, Katherine Scott, Tarboro, SC, Ambrace (Johnnie) Garvin, Pineland, SC, Shirley (Anthony) Sapp, Estill, SC, Janice Singleton, Scotia, SC, and Rose (State Evangelist Bennie) Holmes; brother, Minister Anthony (Pamela) Polite; uncle, James (Florence) Ling; three aunts, Mamie Polite, Irene (Joe Louis) Snooks, and Marie Duncan; three sisters-in-law, Gussie Hamms, Mattie Betties, and Lillie Grant; brother-in -law, William Terry Elmore; five grandchildren, Gracie, Mack III, Jayden, Andrew, and Wonderful; god brother, Calvin Scott; two god-sons, Quintillus Ling and Ahmad Rashad Ling; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and caring friends.
Josephine Elmore 69,of Allendale,South Carolina, passed away October 31, 2023 at MUSC in Charleston.
