Marian Gaynor Obituary

Celebrating Sister Marian
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1
S ister Marian (Rea) Lawton Gaynor was born on February 14, 1961, in Garnett, South Carolina, to Luester Bouyer and the late Amos Garvin. After an extended illness and at the age of 60 years old, Sister Marian entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by her loving children.
Upon moving to Savannah, GA, Sister Marian received her education in the Chatham County public school system. She graduated from Hershel V. Jenkins High School. Later relocating back to South Carolina, she furthered her education by completing her GED in Hilton Head, SC.
Sister Marian was employed at the Marriott Beach and Golf Resort, formerly, (the Hyatt Regency) in Hilton Head, SC, where she retired after 30 years of service. She also worked at Food Lion and Marshall’s in Bluffton, SC.
Sister Marian was baptized and became a member of St. John Baptist Church, Bluffton, SC, where she faithfully served as an Usher.
She was a wonderful mother, god-mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin and a true friend. Sister Marian (Rea) touched so many hearts and left her fingerprints on them.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: her loving mother, Luester (Bobby) Bouyer of Savannah, GA; six devoted children, Ezekiel (Cheryl) Gaynor, Jr, Elaine (Edward) Temony, and Rashod Holmes, Jeannice Lagerre, all of Bluffton, SC, Matthew (Portia) Gaynor of Clyo, GA and Hershal Gaynor of Ransom, New York; one brother, Ricky Holmes of Savannah, GA; a close and special cousin, Margie Jenkins; two loving aunts, Maggie Gaskins of Hardeeville, SC and Eva Mae Holmes of Maryland; ten grandchildren, whom she loves and cherishes very much; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
“…weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
– Psalm 30:5
