Mother Marie K. Ling Duncan, 94 years old, and the precious the matriarch of our family was called from labor to reward on September 25, 2024. Mother Duncan was born on February 25, 1930, to the late Alex and Katie Ling.She was married to the late Edward Duncan Sr (deceased). To this union were born eight children: Edward Jr, Willie Bee (deceased),Kenneth, Barbara, Willie Lee, Bernice, Perry, and Mary.
At an early age, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and her formative years was an active member at King Branch Baptist Church of Garnett, SC. Later on in her life she joined The House of God of Estill, SC and continue to work out her soul salvation.Through her love for God and the people she was honor as mother of the church. She was a loving, caring, happy person whenever you visit her home you would always leave with something. She was full of life and laughter. She had a passion for purses. That was always her favorite gift to received. Mother Duncan favorite food was turkey sub,also when traveling to Hampton she couldn't leave without stopping by Rigdon's Fried Chicken without getting her chicken wings and fries and oops don't forget the sweet tea. Her favorite snack was honey buns. Her favorite daytime hobbies were watching Judge Judy and sitting on her porch to see the many cars and trucks passing by.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son and siblings. She leavess to cherish her fond memories: four sons Edward Duncan Jr of Garnett, SC, Kenneth (Evelyn) Duncan of Bluffton, SC, Wille Lee Duncan of Garnett, SC, Perry (Joyce) Duncan of Tarboro, SC, and three daughters Barbara (Clarence) Harrison of Ridgeland, SC, Bernice (Jerome) Garvin of Garnett, SC, Mary (Dennis) Reid of Estill,SC, one brother Reverened James (Florence) Ling, of Garnett, SC,one sister Irene (Joe) Snooks, of Jacksonville, FL and one brother inlaw Eugene Decausey of Raliegh, NC, 18 grandchildren, 40 greatgrandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
Marie L. Duncan 94 of Garnett, South Carolina passed away September 25, 2024.
