Nora Wright

Ms. Nora L. Wright, daughter of the late Mr. Pattamas and Mrs. Victoria White Jones was born, February 8, 1942 in Garnett, SC. The Lord called her home on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 11:55 pm, surrounded by her loving family.
At an early age, Nora joined Mt. Zion AME Church. She served in many capacities, such as Sunday School Clerk, a dedicated Choir member, and was the Sunday School Teacher.
Nora was educated in the Hampton County, South Carolina school system. After graduation she moved to New York for a few years and then moved back home. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ralph Wright and to this union God blessed them with two children.
While living in New York, she worked at the telephone company and Bank of New York, until returning to South Carolina.
Nora leaves to cherish her loving memories: her son, Mr. Jerome Jones, Sr. (Teresa), Scotia, SC; a devoted grand- daughter, Denise Jones Jenkins (Dante Jenkins), Tarboro, SC, who was with her until the end; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grand- children; one devoted sister, Louise J. Murphy, Hardee- ville, SC; three brothers, Pattamas (Margret) Jones, Jr. Griffin, GA, Samuel (Edna) Jones, Laurelton, NY, and Sidney (Sarah) Jones, Sr., Garnett, SC; two sisters-in-law, Ida Jones, Columbia, SC and Doretha (Everett) White, Suwanee, GA; one brother-in-law Ernest Frost, Tarboro, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nora Wright 81, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on October 8, 2023, at her residence.
