Ronald Campbell Obituary

Ronald Edward Campbell, Sr., a loving husband, devoted father, and caring brother, was born on December 24, 1946, in Ridgeland, South Carolina to Edward S. Campbell and Cleo A. Campbell. As a young boy, Ronald attended Jasper County schools where he graduated from Jasper High School. He later obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from South Carolina State College, now University, further earning a Masters's Degree in Business.
While attending South Carolina State College, Ronald met and later married Marguerite “Bunny” Howie. From their union, they had two children Marguerite Serena and Ronald Edward Campbell, Jr.
Years later he married Susiana Graves in 2005, and became a caring bonus father to Leslie “Shonda” Graves, LaQuetta “Tricie” Washington, and Adam Graves, creating a loving blended family. Ronald and Susiana enjoyed spending time together - going out to concerts, die-hard season ticket holders at South Carolina State University football games and the two enjoyed listening to jazz music. Ronald and Susiana were truly devoted to each other.
Ronald loved “the low country” and enjoyed a career in Human Services working many years for the Economic Opportunity Com- mission and later serving as Executive Director, for Opportunities Industrialization Center. After retirement, for many years, Ronald continued to educate young minds as he was a substitute teacher in Jasper County, he was an excellent cook, so much so he was offered several opportunities as head chef for fine dining restaurants on Hilton Head and dabbled a little in retail just to keep busy.
Anyone who knows Ronald knows how much he loved his fraternity. He was a Charter Member of Omega Alpha Alpha Chapter of the illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Beaufort, South Carolina where he bled royal purple and old gold. He enjoyed listening to country and blues music, playing and watching sports, especially football, watching westerns, crime, and drama series.
To celebrate his memory, Ronald is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Susiana Campbell; daughter, Marguerite Serena Campbell (Reisterstown, MD); son, Ronald Edward Campbell, Jr. (Clover, SC); his bonus children, Leslie Graves (Clarksville, TN); LaQuetta (Archie) Washington (Ridgeland, SC); Adam (Angela) Graves (Hopkinsville, KY); sister Cassandra Campbell (Okatie, SC); brothers-in-law, Alvin (Elvira) Pringle (Yemassee, SC); Vincent Pringle (Yemassee, SC); Dennis Pringle (Yemassee, SC); niece Juanita Campbell (Aiken, SC); eldest cousin Paul Logan (Pineland, SC); grandson Cross Levy (Reisterstown, MD); 9 bonus grandchil- dren, 14 bonus great-grandchildren and a host of close family and friends.
