Thelma Lewis

Thelma Lewis is the daughter of the late, Joe and
Bertha Adkins. Thelma was born on March 15, 1937 at Hampton General Hospital, Hampton, South Carolina.
Thelma graduated from Dixon Elementary. She later moved to New Jersey.
She was united in holy matrimony on April 10, 1954 to the love of her life Abraham B. Lewis, Sr.
Thelma was employed and retired from Avon.
She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and most of all, a loving wife.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Danile and Effie Lewis, children, Deborah and Cheyenne Lewis; brothers, Leroy, George and William Adkins, sisters, Claretha Adkins and Brenda Jackson; sisters-in-law, Maggie Lue Emerson, Janie Lewis and Barbara Ann Gordon; brothers-in-law, Aaron (JC) Lewis and James (Boe) Lewis.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving husband, Abraham B. Lewis, Sr; daughter, Clara May Lewis, Dallas, Texas; son, Abraham Lewis, Jr, Paterson, NJ; sisters, Lillie and Raymond Gillison, Paterson, NJ and Queenie Adkins, Scotia, SC; and brother, Joe Adkins, Scotia, SC; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Thelma Lewis 86, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
