Troy Esaw Obituary

“ I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I

have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7
On November 29, 1970, a bouncing baby boy was born to
Angeline Esaw & Johnny Phoenix. He was reared in the home of his
aunt Eliza Bostick who proceeded him in death. Troy received his
early education in the public school system of Jasper County and
later continued his education in Job Corps in Bristle, Tennessee
where he received his certification in culinary arts. Troy was a great
father and lover of people. He enjoyed spending time with his family
and friends, cooking, entertaining, and keeping it real. Troy was
always blunt and straightforward and was very well known to people
throughout the Lowcountry.
At an early age, he was baptized at Bethel United Methodist Church
in Smoaks, South Carolina. On September 29, 2020, God with his
most infinite wisdom, saw fit to call Troy to a place where he will
rejoice forevermore.
Troy had two sisters that preceded him in death, Latrina Phoenix and
Rhonda Brown.
Troy leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter Taylor Simmons, his
mother Angeline(Paul) Lowe, his father Johnny Phoenix, 5 brothers
Paul(Audrea) & Jamar Lowe, Devon Hayward, Alonzo Phoenix, and
Benjamin Green, 3 sisters Bernisha Phoenix and Corine (Richard)
Jenkins both of Ridgeland, SC and Lyashica Fields of Augusta, GA;
5 aunts Alvina (Ricky) Wortham, Ethel Harris, Annie Major,
Henrietta Bender and Deloris Smith, 4 uncles Sylvester &
Stanley(Karen) Esaw of Augusta, GA, Guy Esaw of Atlanta, GA,
and Samuel Phoenix of Ridgeland, SC. One grand aunt Carrie Lou
Smith and one grand uncle Nathaniel Fikes Jr both of Augusta, GA.
He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and
friends. Not to mention, an incredibly special friend Henry.

Troy Esaw of Ridgeland, SC made his transition on September 28, 2020.
