William Brooks

William Brooks was born in Allendale County, South Carolina to the late Reverend William Maner and Ogretta Brown Brooks on January 9, 1952.
He graduated from CV Bing High School in 1969. He furthered his studies at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina and at the Technical College of the Low Country in Hampton, South Carolina.
William enjoyed spending time looking at all kinds of sports from basketball to NASCAR racing. He was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys and also loved doing crossword puzzles, from sudoku and listening to oldies on the radio. He was known to family and friends as “Maner Cool” and “Brother”.
He departed this life on Monday, October 9, 2023, at MUSC Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Lorenzo L. Brooks, William (Brandy) Brooks, Felicia T. Brooks, and Cassie (Dantwan) Brown; 16 grand- children; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary F. Miller, Juanita (Dr. E.B.) Palmer and Shirley (John) Johnson; and a host of family and friends.

William Brooks of Gifford, SC gained his Heavenly Wings on October 9, 2023, at MUSC Columbia.
