Woodrow Solomon

Woodrow Solomon 75, of Estill SC, departed this earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday October 30, 2018 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. 

Woodrow Solomon Jr., of Estill SC, formerly of New York City. Passed in peace at the age of 75 on October 30, 2018 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, South Carolina.
Woodrow, affectionately known as Buddy was born in Hampton County, SC. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Mary C. Solomon.
Woodrow began his career in the trucking industry, after moving to New York City, he started out as a dry van driver. He eventually became a local and regional driver. After a few decades in trucking industry, he decided to venture into a new career in the death care industry where he found his true passion helping grieving individuals working at Matthew Barnett Funeral Home in Brooklyn New York. After retiring Buddy returned home to Estill where he enjoyed reading, listening to music and cooking. Woodrow also enjoyed his religion and was a member of Mt Pleasant A.M.E Church.
Woodrow was preceding in death by his sisters:  Lillian Solomon, Carolyn Solomon Farrow, Gloria Taylor, Artholian Carey and Mary Gardner.
Woodrow leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to his loving wife, Irene Hicks Solomon; one son Tarrell Solomon of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters: Monica Solomon of Knightdale NC, Raenell L. Carthon (Corey) of Queens, NY. Special niece Veronica Gardner of Bound Brook NJ. One sister Catherine Smith of Charlotte NC. Two brothers: Walter S. Solomon (Janice) of Estill SC and Earl Garvin of Bronx NY. One brother-in-law William Taylor of Queens, NY. Four grandchildren: Tarrell R. Solomon, Kahlil Hallett, Kahrese Juame and Chase Carthon; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Woodie was known as a man of few words and a friend to everyone.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E Church.

All relatives and friends are invited to attend his celebration of life on Saturday, November 10,2018 at 1:00 p.m. at  Mt. Pleasant A.M.E Church.

Interment: Breeler Field Cemetery.
